{ Allah does not hold you all to account for the slips in your oaths; Allah does however hold you to account for what your hearts have attained; and Allah is forgiving, forbearing } Al-baqara 225

'Amr ibn Shu'aib related from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (SAW) said: Whoever takes an oath, but then finds something else that is better, let him break the oath, and indeed breaking it is expiation for it. Ibn Majah reported this.
