{ It is He who drove away from their dwellings those of the People of the Book who disbelieved, at the first gathering; you did not think that they would leave, and they thought that their fortifications would guard them from Allah, but Allah came to them from where they did not reckon, and flung terror into their hearts so that they destroyed their houses by their own hands and the hands of the Believers; so take heed, you who can see } Al-hashr 2

The word of the Most High: { And flung terror into their hearts } ; linguists say that “terror” [ruab] is fear that extends over the chest, that is, fills it; and flinging it affixes it there.
