{ Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are severe against the Disbelievers but merciful with each other } Al-fath 29

{ And those who are with him are severe against the Disbelievers } : that is, those Believers who are with him are severe against the Disbelievers, harsh on them; “severe” means strong in the religion of Allah Most High, strong against the enemies of Allah. They do not incline towards the Disbelievers, relatives or otherwise, but instead make enmity clear to them in the religion; they are towards Disbelievers like a lion towards its prey.
