قرآن ﴿ يا أيها النبي جاهد الكفار والمنافقين وأغلظ عليهم ومأواهم جهنم وبئس المصير ﴾ التوبة ٧٣

قرآن ﴿ جاهد الكفار ﴾ بالسيف ﴿ والمنافقين ﴾ بالحجّة ﴿ وأغلظ عليهم ﴾ في الجهادين جميعاً ولا تحابهم وكل من وقف منه على فساد في العقيدة فهذا الحكم ثابت فيه يجاهد بالحجة وتستعمل معه الغلظة ما أمكن منها وعن إبن مسعود إن لم يستطع بيده فبلسانه فإن لم يستطع فليكفهر في وجهه فإن لم يستطع فبقلبه يريد الكراهة والبغضاء والتبرأ منه وقد حمل الحسن جهاد المنافقين على إقامة الحدود عليهم إذا تعاطوا أسبابها

تفسير الزمخشري

{ Oh Prophet! Wage jihad on the Disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be harsh to them; their dwelling is Hell, a miserable fate } Al-tawba 73

{ Wage jihad on the Disbelievers } : with the sword; { and the hypocrites } : with arguments; { and be harsh to them } : in both kinds of jihad; do not show favoritism. Anyone who becomes aware of corruption in doctrine among them, this is the ruling, and it is firm regarding them; jihad is waged against them with arguments, and harshness is employed as much as possible. Ibn Mas’ud said: If one is unable with his hands, then with his tongue; if he is unable, then at least with a menacing face; if he is still unable, then in his heart. He means aversion, hatred, and refusal to have anything to do with them; Al-Hasan associated jihad against hypocrites with carrying out the prescribed punishments against them whenever they give reason for it.
