Mahfudh ibn ‘Alqama related from his father that Mu’adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) went into his house at one point and saw his woman looking out from a narrow opening in the dome, so he beat her. And Mu’adh was eating some apples, and his woman was with him, and a servant boy of his passed by, and his woman gave him an apple that she had bitten, and Mu’adh beat her.
