From Ma’mar who said: I asked Al-Zuhri about menstruating women and those who are sexually impure – should they make remembrance [dhikr] of Allah? He said: Yes. I said: And can they recite the Qur’an? He said: No. Ma’mar said: Al-Hasan and Qatada both said that they may not recite anything from the Qur’an.
