From ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: The Prophet (SAW) married me when I was a six-year-old girl; we came to Medina and stayed with the Banu Al-Harith ibn Khazraj. I grew weary and fell ill, and my hair fell out, then grew back pretty thick. My mother, Umm Ruman, came to me while I was on a swing with some of my friends. She called to me, and I went to her, not knowing what she wanted with me. And she took my hand and made me stand at the door of the house, and I was short of breath, until my breathing calmed down a bit, then she took some water and rubbed my face and head with it. Then she had me enter the house, and there were some women of the Ansar in the house, and they said: Best wishes and blessings and good luck! Then she gave me to the women, and they fixed me up. I wasn’t frightened except that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) came before noon, and she gave me to him, and at the time I was a nine-year-old girl.
