Whenever a woman intentionally causes an abortion by drinking abortive medicine, and if the pregnancy has not reached the term at which the spirit is infused, then there is no blood money for this, although the sin is on her and account is made of it. This is one of the two viewpoints of our companions; the second viewpoint is that if she expels it as a lump of flesh [mudghah], and those present attest that it is a human creature, then the price of a slave is due.
