Ishaq ibn Ibrahim Al-Mawsili said: Someone said to ‘Aqil ibn ‘Alqama, an intensely protective and jealous man, when he was preparing for a journey: Where is your zeal [ghira] for the women you are leaving behind? He said: I leave behind with them hunger and nakedness, for indeed if they hunger, they do not play around, and if they are naked, they do not go out.
