Ibn ‘Abbas said: A woman from the tribe of Khath’am came to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) and said: I am a widow and want to marry; what is the husband’s right? He said: Indeed it is the husband’s right over the wife, whenever he wants her and makes advances to her, and she is on the back of a camel, that she does not refuse him. And it is his right that she not give away anything of his house except with his permission; if she does this, the offense is on her and the recompense is his. And it is his right that she not fast voluntarily except with his permission; if she does this she will hunger and thirst and it will not be accepted of her. And if she goes out of her house without his permission, the angels curse her until she returns to his house or repents.
