A man must not put together two of his women in a single place to live without their consent, whether they are young or old, because they will suffer harm from the enmity and jealousy between them, and their being together will give rise to animosity and fighting, and one of them will hear the man’s voice when he has sex with the other one or if she sees this. If they consent to this then it is permissible, since they have the right, and pardon is theirs for not having it; similarly if they consent to him sleeping between them under one blanket. However if they both consent to him having sex with one of them where the other one can see him, it is not permitted, for this is base, absurd, and degrades a sense of honour; it is not allowed even if they both consent. And if the man places them both to live in a single residence, each must have their own quarters, permissible if it is a place to live like the other.
