The word of the Most High { And that which you enjoy from them, give them their due payment } : the enjoyment is the pleasure and the payment is the bride price. And the bride price is called payment because it is the payment for the enjoyment; this stipulates that the bride price be called payment, and this is evidence that it is in exchange for the vagina, since whatever is given in exchange for a benefit is called a payment. Scholars have disagreed regarding what the contract is for in marital relations – is it the woman’s body or the benefit of the vagina or both? – three points of view. However it is clear that all of it applies, since the contract implies all of it. But Allah knows better.
