From Jabir ibn Abdullah who said: I was present with the Messenger of Allah (SAW) for prayer on the day of ‘eid, and He began with the prayer before the sermon, without adhan and without iqamah. Then He got up, leaning on Bilal, and ordered fear of Allah and urged obedience to him; and he admonished the people and reminded them. Then He proceeded on until He came to the women, and admonished them and reminded them, and said: Give alms, for indeed most of you women are firewood for Hell. And a woman with sunburnt cheeks from among the women got up and said: Why, Oh Messenger of Allah? He said: Because you women complain much and are ungrateful to your husbands. So they began to give alms from their jewelry, tossing their earrings and signet rings into Bilal’s garment.
