Al-Azhari said: The correct meaning of "little honey" [‘usailah] is the sweetness of sex, which ensues upon the concealment of the head of the penis in the vagina. The word is in the feminine form as it implies a portion of honey; Al-Dawudi said: it is in the diminutive form for its strong resemblance to honey. It is said that the meaning of ‘usailah is a drop of semen, this being in agreement with what Hasan Al-Basri said. A large number of scholars have said that “the taste of ‘usailah” is an allusion to sex, this being the concealment of the head of a man in the vagina of a woman; Hasan Al-Basri added: the attainment of discharge.
