Regarding someone who says that certainly the sex drive of women exceeds the sex drive of men: it is not as he says. For the sex drive comes out of a burning passion; and where is the passion of the female against the passion of the male? For a woman – due to her unoccupation, her idleness, and her lack of endurance for what drives her to the issue of her sex drive and fulfilling her desire – the power of the sex drive fills her and takes control of her; and nothing is found in her to oppose it, but rather this corresponds to an empty heart and a vacant soul. And this becomes deeply consolidated in her, and one might deem that her sex drive is several times more than the man’s sex drive; but this is not so. Part of what attests to this is that when a man has sex with his woman, it is possible for him to promptly have sex with another woman. The Prophet (SAW) would go around to His women in one night; Sulaiman (peace be upon him) went around to ninety women in one night, and it is known that with each woman his sex drive and passion were aroused for intercourse. A woman’s sex drive – if a man fulfills her desire – weakens, and her soul becomes broken, and she will not look to fulfill it with another man at that time. And so the Law, the high standing, the creation, and the authority are all in accord with His ruling; and praise be to Allah.
