He [Ibn ‘Aqil] said: It is not permitted for a woman to be alone with castrated men or complete eunuchs, since even if the member is nonfunctional or absent, a man’s desire does not cease in his heart, and there is no assuredness against enjoyment from kissing and other things. Therefore for the same reason it is not permitted for a virile man to be alone with women having abnormal or absent sexual organs. Ibn ‘Aqil said: And I found a nice line of thought from some of the expository scholars, saying that if a wild animal can be among those that desire women, or a woman can desire it – it has been said that a monkey, if it is alone with a woman or sees her sleeping, it would seek to have sex with her, and among lustful women there are some that perhaps might invite it to themselves, and so based on this, residences with women in them should be safeguarded against such animals entering.
