Salim ibn Abdullah related that he said: I saw my father Abdullah ibn ‘Umar perform a full washing [ghusl] and then ablution [wudu’]. So I said to him: Oh father, isn’t ghusl sufficient for you over wudu’ ? He said: Certainly, but sometimes I touch my penis, so I then perform wudu’.
