‘Ikrama related that Rifa’a divorced his woman and ‘Abd Al-Rahman ibn Al-Zubair Al-Quradhi married her. ‘Aishah said she had on a green throw and complained to her and showed her a green spot on her skin, and when the Messenger of Allah (SAW) came (and the women would support each other), ‘Aishah said: I have not seen anything like what the believing women are burdened with; her skin is greener than her garment! And he [‘Abd Al-Rahman] heard that she had gone to the Messenger of Allah (SAW), and so he came, with his two sons from another woman. She said: I swear by Allah I have done no wrong to him, except that he has nothing useful to me except this – and she grabbed the fringe of her garment. And He [‘Abd Al-Rahman] said: She lies; I swear by Allah Oh Messenger of Allah, truly I can shake her like a leather skin is shaken, but she is quarrelsome and wants Rifa’a. And the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: If that is the case then you [the woman] are not permissible to him [Rifa’a] – or you are not suitable for him – until he [‘Abd Al-Rahman] tastes your little honey ['usailah]. And He saw the two boys with him and said: Are these your sons? He said: Yes. And He said [to the woman]: Is this what you are really claiming? Indeed by Allah they resemble him like a crow resembles another crow.
