عن عطاء بن ابي رباح أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لرجلٍ من أصحابه يا فلان هل صمت اليوم قال لا قال فهل تصدقت اليوم قال لا قال فائتِ أهلك فأصِب منها فإنها صدقةٌ منك عليك وكان ذلك اليوم يوم جمعة

‘Ataa ibn Abi Rabah related that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said to a certain man from among His Companions: Oh so-and-so, have you fasted today? He said: No. He said: And have you given charity today? He said: No. He said: Then go to a woman of your household and get some of her, for indeed that is as charity from you and obligatory for you. And this was on a day of assembly [Friday].
