Ibn Ishaq said: When the Messenger of Allah (SAW) had the wedding party for Safiyah at Khaibar or along the way – she being the one who Umm Sulaim bint Milhan, the mother of Anas ibn Malik, had made pretty for the Messenger of Allah (SAW) and combed and fitted her garment – the Messenger of Allah (SAW) spent the night with her in a small tent of His. And Abu Ayub Khalid ibn Zaid Abu bani Al-Najjar spent the night with his sword on him guarding the Messenger of Allah (SAW) and walking around the tent until the Messenger of Allah (SAW) got up in the morning. And when He saw where he was, He said: What is with you, Abu Ayub? He said: Oh Messenger of Allah, I feared for you with this woman, a woman who you killed her father and her husband and her people, and she has come recently from unbelief. So I feared for you with her. And some people alleged that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: Oh Allah, guard Abu Ayub just as he spent the night guarding me.
