Intercourse is obligatory for a man if he does not have an excuse. Malik said this, and according to what Al-Qadi says, he must not abandon it except in the case of injury. Al-Shafi’i said: It is not obligatory for him since it is a right of his, and it is not obligatory just like the rest of his rights.
