{ Indeed your Lord will give to you, and you will be pleased; did He not find you as an orphan, and gave you shelter? } Al-duha 5-6

The meaning is: Has not Allah known you to be an orphan, and sheltered you? They mentioned two things in commentary regarding “orphan”. The first is that Abdullah ibn ‘Abd Al-Mutallib, according to those with knowledge, passed away while the Messenger of Allah’s (SAW) mother was pregnant with him. Then the Messenger of Allah was born, and was with his grandfather; then his grandfather perished two years after his mother, when the Messenger of Allah was eight years of age. ‘Abd Al-Mutallib had entrusted Abu Talib to take charge of him, since Abdullah and Abu Talib had the same mother. So Abu Talib was the one who became the Messenger of Allah’s guardian after his grandfather, until Allah sent him forth in prophethood, and upheld him for a long time. Abu Talib passed away after this, and orphanhood never again overwhelmed the Messenger of Allah whatsoever, as Allah Most High reminded him of this beneficence. It is related that one day Abu Talib said to his brother ‘Abbas: Shall I not tell you of Muhammad, of what I saw of him? He replied: Certainly. Then he said: Indeed I had him closely with me, and did not think of separating from him for a moment day or night, nor entrust him to anyone, until I had put him to sleep in my bed. And one night I told him to take off his clothes and sleep with me, and I could see on his face that He disliked this, but He also disliked to go against me. He said: Oh uncle! Turn your face from me until I get undressed; indeed no one ought to see my body. I was taken aback by what He said, but turned away my gaze until He got in bed. When I got in bed with him, there happened to be a garment between me and him, but I swear by Allah I didn’t put this in my bed. And He was so extremely soft, and smelled so good, as if He were immersed in musk, and I tried very hard to look at his body, but I didn’t see a thing. And I missed him and sought him many times in my bed, but whenever I got up to look for him, He called to me: “Here I am, uncle, come back.”
