Ibn Al-‘Arabi said in Al-‘Arida : Allah brought the greatest distinguishing quality to His Messenger (SAW), and that is minimal eating and potency in sex, for He was the most satisfied of people in nourishment and the strongest of them in intercourse. And Al-qadi ‘Iyad said: Marital relations are acknowledged as praiseworthy in their abundance and honored in their plentifulness, lawfully and as a customary practice. For it is a sign of integrity and healthy masculinity. And boasting of doing it a lot remains a well-known custom, and mutual praise for it is a way of old. And Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said in Fath Al-bari: They say that all who are most devout to Allah have the strongest sex drive. And know that the effect of this quality of His (SAW) was manifest in the fact that He (SAW) would go around to His women in one day, and there were nine of them, and this was attested concerning Him; and that sometimes He washed Himself after each woman, and sometimes washed once after His rounds to all of them. And know as well that the prophets (peace be upon them) were favoured over people in this. Al-Hakim Al-Tirmidhi said in Nawadir Al-usul : The prophets were given increase in marital relations by virtue of their enlightenment, and this because light, when the chest is filled with it and it flows abundantly in the veins, the soul and the veins find delight and inflame the desire. And it was narrated from Sa’id ibn Al-Musayyib who said: Prophets (peace be upon them) are favored over people in their abundance of sex, and this as regards the pleasure in it.
